Journal of Turkish Cultural Studies

Journal of Turkish Cultural Studies is a semi-annual, peer-reviewed, international social sciences journal that has academic articles in the field of literature and history.

The aim of this journal is to research the values of Turkish literature and history and to offer a solution to their problems. The journal that began its publishing life in 2000 under the roof of the Foundation of History and Islamic Studies (TISAV) continued to be published within Kültür Ocağı Vakfı (KOCAV) as of its 8th issue.

TKID’s first issue is a gift to the 700th year of the foundation of Ottoman Empire and its 24th issue is published in the memory of Marmara University faculty member Durmuş Hocaoğlu who passed away in 2010.  Also, in every ten issue, an index of the published articles is prepared for the use of the researchers.

The journal that has been uninterruptedly published for 20 years, today reached its 40th issue and it gained a place among national and international scientific journals with its qualified articles. Within this period, we would like to express our gratitudes to Osman Sezgin the president of TISAV,  Ali Akyıldız who conducted the editorship of history till the 33th issue and Üzeyir Aslan who was the editor of literature.

Currently, the online journal process of TKİD, which is scanned by two international indexes named MLA International Bibliography and Turkologischer Anzeiger, and ULAKBİM Social Sciences Database, has been completed and the process of applying to various area indexes, mainly AHCI, is ongoing.

Journal Of Turkish Cultural Studies Publication Objective

The aim of this journal that began its publishing life in 2000 under the roof of the Foundation of History and Islamic Studies (TISAV) continued to be published within Kültür Ocağı Vakfı (KOCAV) as of its 8th issue is to research and analyze the values of Turkish literature and history and to offer solution proposals to their problems.

One of the main objectives of our journal is to bring together scientific developments in Turkish language, literature and history with its relevant reader, to discuss the problems of the field with scientific language, to ensure that oral and written sources of our culture are recorded, and to contribute to Turkish history, literature and culture by keeping the literature in history and literature up to date.

As such, in the areas mentioned above; publishing and promoting scientific studies contributing to the original and relevant field in terms of subject, resources and methodology are among the main objectives of our journal.
