Bu çalışmada, Necâtî Bey’in ÅŸair karşılığında kullandığı kelimeler, ilgili tamlamalar; ÅŸairden ne anladığı, ÅŸaire yüklediÄŸi anlamlar; bilhassa ÅŸairliÄŸinin özellikleri ile yine kendi ÅŸairliÄŸi üzerine yaptığı teÅŸbih ve tespitler; ÅŸairi yazdırtan, teÅŸvik eden etkenler; ÅŸikâyet ettiÄŸi hususlar, diÄŸer ÅŸairlere bakışı, kısaca poetik deÄŸerlendirmelerinin önemli bir bölümünü oluÅŸturan ÅŸair anlayışı ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır.
Necâtî, dîvânında en fazla ÅŸair kelimesini tercih etmiÅŸ, onun yerine aynı zamanda “ashâb-ı nazm, ehl-i nazm, ehl-i suhan, suhan-gû, suhan-ver” vb. kelime ve tamlamaları kullanmıştır. Necâtî’ye göre gerçek veya iyi ÅŸair olabilmek için her ÅŸeyden önce Allah vergisi bir yeteneÄŸe sahip olunmalı; ayrıca aÅŸkı üstat edinmeli, yeni ve özgün sözler söyleyebilecek güçte bilgi ve donanıma sahip olunmalıdır.
Necâtî’nin ÅŸiirlerinde de ÅŸair denilince ilki kendi ÅŸairliÄŸi, ikincisi ise diÄŸer ÅŸairler olmak üzere, esasen iki temel ve farklı gruptan söz edildiÄŸi görülmektedir. O, ÅŸairliÄŸinin ve kiÅŸiliÄŸinin özellikleri arasında âciz olmak, alçak ve hassas bir gönle sahip bulunmak, çok erken yaÅŸta ÅŸiire baÅŸlamak, eÅŸi benzeri olmamak, kalemi inciler saçmak, yeni bir tarza, tatlı bir dile, son derece güçlü bir zihne sahip olmak; hatta uyanık, kurnaz ve yalancı olmak gibi birçok özelliÄŸe yer vermiÅŸtir.
Necâtî, ÅŸair veya ÅŸairliÄŸi için ise “pâdiÅŸah/sultan, bülbül, gavvâs, tûtî” vb. benzetmelerde bulunmuÅŸ; bilhassa beÄŸendiÄŸi, deÄŸer verdiÄŸi ÅŸairleri hem ismen anmak, hem de belli vasıflarını dile getirmek; beÄŸenmediÄŸi ve eleÅŸtirdiklerini ise daha ziyâde genel özelliklerine deÄŸinmek sûretiyle anmıştır. Kaynaklarda “melikü’ÅŸ-ÅŸuarâ” olarak anılması ve aynı zamanda klâsik ÅŸiir geleneÄŸinin kurucu isimlerinden biri kabul edilmesi de Necâtî’nin ÅŸair/ÅŸairliÄŸi üzerine dile getirdiÄŸi poetik görüÅŸ, deÄŸerlendirme ve tenkitlerini hayli anlamlı ve önemli kılmaktadır.

Abstract
In this study, I tried to present the words and phrases Necati Bey used to mean “poet”,what he understood when he used the word poet, the meaning he attributed to the wordpoet, especially the characteristics of his poetry, his similes, determinations andevaluations about his own poetry, the factors that caused and encouraged a poet to writepoems, the issues that he complained about, his views on other poets, in brief, hisunderstanding of poetry that forms an important part of his poetic evaluations.In his divan, Necati preferred the word poet more than others but he also used thefollowing phrases and similar ones: “ashâb-ı nazm (companions of verse), ehl-i nazm(people of verse), ehl-i suhan (people of words), suhan-gû (utterer of words), suhanver(fluent speaker)”. According to Necâtî, it is necessary to have an innate talent, toaccept love as one’s teacher and to have enough knowledge and information to be ableto say new and original things in order to be a real or good poet.It is seen that two basic different groups are mentioned when the word poet is inquestion in Necâtî’s poems: he himself as a poet and other poets. Necati describes someof his characteristics as a poet and his personality as follows: He is weak; he has amodest and sensitive heart; he started to write poems at a very young age; he is veryfamous; he is a unique poet; his pen emits pearls; he has a new style; he is smoothtongued;he is a liar; his mind is very strong, alert and cunning.Necati likened himself and his poetry to a sultan, nightingale, pear diver, parrot, etc.He mentioned the poets that he liked and appreciated by citing their names and certaincharacteristics of them; he mentioned the poets that he disliked and criticized by citingtheir general characteristics only.That he is mentioned as “the king of poets” in resources and that he is accepted as oneof the founders of the tradition of classical poetry make the poetic views, evaluationsand critiques of Necati on poets and poetry very significant.
