Murad’a ait biri mensur altı lugaz ile bunlara cevap yazan şairler, manzume-

leriyle birlikte değerlendirilmiştir.

Abstract
Many of the works of classical Turkish literature tend to conceal, hide, imply, or sense the meaning. This situation is like the first priority of the poet. Otherwise, maz- mun cannot gain meaning in the poetry with literary arts. This situation, which has embraced the essence of classical Turkish poetry, has also created material for the li- terary plays of poets; many types of poems have emerged from “lugazs” and muam- mas to muvaşşah (acrostic) poems, from müdevver poems to muvassal verses or co- uplets. In the Ottoman Empire, the affiliation of sultans and rulers with poets who wrote both religious and non-religious poems continued to exist from the foundation of the empire to its collapse. This affinity has been manifested by the reciprocal arran- gement or prediction of a poem sometimes written in the assemblies of poems organi- zed by the sultan or state administrators, or by annotation in the poems of the state administrators. The six “lugazs”, one of which was written in the form of a prose, identified as belonging to Sultan Murad III, and the answers written to them are another indication of this affiliation. Sultan Murad III’s reward for the answers writ- ten to these “lugazs” also liberated the tradition of telling “lugazs” in Turkish litera- ture from being only among the friends, and elevated it to the palace neighborhood; from the ward to the shaykh al-Islam, there have been regulators of “lugazs” and mu‘ammâ. In this article, first of all, the features of the “lugazs” that we have seen in Turkish literature since the 16th century are listed with the support of new examples, and then a list of some poets who are interested in this genre in Turkish literature is given. Finally, as a result of our analysis on poetry magazines, one of the six “lugazs” of Sultan Murad III and the poets who answered them were evaluated together with their verses.
