Abstract
This article starts with ideology of nationalism that has gained clarity since 1908 and addresses the current that appeared with the search of identification during and after Turkish War of Independence and edged towards Anatolia. The appearance of the current that basically contains the efforts of turning to origin/self, progressed within the political, social conditions of the period and in the course of time, by incorporation of different thouhgts, branched into two. First branch progressed on the intellectual level and avant-gardes of this branch provided theoretical solutions for many impasse. At first, it’s seeked to be an identification that did not highlight the basic facts such as race, religion, fatherland and people who were conservatives and people who were socialrealists continued to proceed through two basic branches; first ones by using Anatolianist (meaning, taking side with Anatolia) discourses and second ones by using territorial discourses. Both branches laid the base for different literary approaches in the period that followed. Members of the two branches have witnessed the social transformation, the dissolution of the empire, the establishment of the Republic, and they continued their search in literature, language and style. The predecessors of the Homeland Literature have adopted a line trying to take the problems of the homeland into the foreground, dealing with the lean facts, the relations between the social strata, the individuals struggling living in a state of transition from tradition to modernity in their works. There are three separate works published in Turkish Literature titled "Homeland Stories" (Refik Halit Karay - 1919, Bekir Sıtkı Kunt - 1933, Ayfer Tunç - 2012). As a member of the Homeland Literature which gained momentum in 1930s, Bekir Sıtkı Kunt's book, Homeland Stories, is a collection of stories about the effects of social change on individuals.
